Hays timesheets and temporary payroll information

A team having a meeting in the office

At Hays, we’re committed to making your experience smooth, reliable, and hassle-free. As a temporary worker or contractor, you’ll receive prompt, weekly pay with no payroll fees or hidden deductions — your full pay goes directly to you. Our dedicated payroll team processes online timesheets efficiently, running two pay cycles each week to ensure you're paid on time, every time.

Submitting Hays timesheets

Hays Online Timesheets provides a secure and convenient way to register your payroll details and submit your timesheets.

  • After accepting your first assignment, you'll receive a welcome email containing login instructions and your payroll ID.
  • Submit your timesheet every Friday afternoon or earlier while your weekly hours are fresh in your mind. Setting a reminder can help avoid late submissions and ensure timely payment.
  • Your line manager must approve your timesheet before processing. Submitting on time allows approval ahead of the first pay run the following week.
  • Login credentials for Hays Online Timesheets differ from your hays.com.au account. Some clients may use different timesheet systems, your consultant will guide you accordingly

Hays pay cycles and payment dates

We run two pay cycles per week:

  • Wednesday night
  • Friday night

Your payment depends on your financial institution; most major banks process payments same day or by the next business day.

Around public holidays, pay cycles may shift so check your emails and log into Hays Online Timesheets for updates.

What if I miss a timesheet deadline?

If you miss the deadline:

  • Confirm with your line manager that they have approved your timesheet.
  • Once approved, it will be processed in the next available pay cycle — our twice-weekly pay cycles ensure minimal delay.
  • If unsure, contact your Hays consultant for assistance.

Payslips and income statements

  • Access payslips anytime via Hays Online Timesheets
  • For rate discrepancies, contact your Hays consultant.
  • Hays submits your income statement to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) by July 14 each year.
  • You can access year-to-date and end-of-year income statements via myGov or your registered tax agent. Visit the ATO website for more details.

Superannuation contributions

  • Super contributions are made monthly in arrears, based on the Sunday of your pay period.
