Currently based in Sydney, for the past circa 25 years this candidate has been in a mixture of business orientated and technical focused positions. Starting in his native South Africa, his professional career started with working within the communications/telecommunications domain for the South African Airforce (guidance systems, aircraft comms, etc).

Building upon this technical knowledge, he soon relocated to Australia to begin his career within the mining sector. Arriving first in Perth, much of his initial experience centred around a combination of safety systems, business management and sales development for firms supplying products into the mines.

Expanding upon this, he was soon responsible for (and gained further certifications in) designing, building and taking to market safety management systems for organisations such as Rio Tinto, BHP and AngloGold. Continually straddling the line between product engineering and business/general management (including sales, personnel management, business reviews, etc), he has worked with large scale mining/heavy industry organisations across Australia for several years. 

Moving away from the safety domain in 2017, he continued this line of work within the control systems space (Scada, Telemetry, etc). Delivering real-time, data focused traffic control systems for the likes of Transport for NSW, he was also tasked with revenue generation and as such continued to achieve the target set to him.

To add to his business prowess, he has also been involved with taking a Perth based gold mining firm to their pre-IPO (just before going public) alongside having completed his MBA in 2017. From a technical viewpoint, he has continued to upskill and learn and as such has recently completed his Masters of Cyber Security from the renowned UNSW.

Whilst based in Sydney, his partner has recently relocated to Brisbane and as such have sold their Sydney home and will be relocating to Queensland once a position has been secured.
