Currently based in Brisbane, this candidate is currently coming to an end of his tenure with the international satellite communications organisation Inmarsat (due to his team in Brisbane being off shored). Initially hired due to his extensive mining experience, his position saw him lead the integration of Inmarast’s global satellite communication services to mines across the region. Due to his capabilities, this soon expand to oversee their entire APAC market (which whilst still included mining also included marine, logistics, etc).

This new appointment saw him work with organisations throughout APAC to identify, design, build, integrate and sell communications services to his developed markets. Working with these clients, he managed the commercial development of mining specific IoT platforms and the subsequent integration of these with Inmarast’s satellites.

Prior to this he had come from a more mining operations background. Working for large scale mines throughout the world such as Olympic Dam (BHP), Barrick Gold (Saudi Arabia) and Coppabella (Peabody), his mining tenure started within the physical engineering and surveying fields. As his career progressed he became more involved with geospatial technologies and the digital transformation of mine sites. To expand upon this skill set, he has been part of advisory councils such as IoT Alliance Australia to increase his understanding and capabilities.

As mentioned, due to his teams offshoring his position has been made redundant and as such is seeking his next appointment.
