Who are Generation Y?
At present there are most likely four generations in your workplace: Veterans, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Y.
For the purposes of our research, Generation Y are defined as those born between 1982 to 2002.
Generation Y are typically:
- Optimistic
- Confident
- Ambitious
- Socially aware
- Moral
- Technologically savvy
- Fast moving
- Creative problem solvers
- Flexible
- Very career motivated
Generation Y are career focused and know what they ideally want to attain. The problem lies in that they're often not sure how to achieve this. Effective management and career development advice will assist this generation in progressing their career to where they want it to be.
