Strengthening pathways from education to employment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

Hays has announced EPIC Pathways as its new Helping for Your Tomorrow charity partner across Australia, marking a significant step in its commitment to creating opportunities and improving lives through meaningful, community-led impact.

The two-year partnership, commencing in 2026, will focus on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students at a critical transition point in their lives by helping to build confidence, skills and clear pathways from education into employment.

EPIC Pathways works alongside First Nations communities to deliver culturally safe, co-designed programs that embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, values and leadership. Through close collaboration with Elders, students and local communities, EPIC ensures programs are respectful, relevant, and driven by those they are designed to support.

Through the partnership, Hays aims to help equip more than 180 First Nations students each year with job-readiness skills; mentor and support emerging First Nations student leaders through EPIC’s Ambassador Program; and contribute to culturally safe initiatives that bridge the gap between education and employment. The partnership will involve mentoring, volunteering, career workshops, and sharing real-world insights into the world of work. This includes areas where Hays can add genuine, long-term value, such as resume writing, interview preparation, confidence-building sessions, and exposure to different career pathways.

Partnering with EPIC Pathways is an important step in bringing our purpose of creating opportunities and improving lives to life in a meaningful way,” said Matthew Dickason, CEO, APAC.” “Working alongside EPIC Pathways allows us to support First Nations young people in a culturally safe, community‑led way, while helping them build the confidence, skills and connections they need for the future.

EPIC Pathways’ commitment to tracking both quantitative and qualitative outcomes will enable Hays to clearly measure and share the impact of the partnership, from student participation and skill development to progression outcomes, while supporting its broader diversity, equity and inclusion priorities and reinforcing its ESG commitments.
