International Day of People with Disabilities is a United Nations observance that promotes awareness and understanding of the experiences and contributions of people with disability as well as highlighting the role everyone plays in creating a more inclusive and accessible society.

At Hays, we know that inclusive recruitment and workplace actions are key to attracting and retaining talent and, in this article, we explore practical steps organisations can take to ensure their hiring processes and workplace culture actively support LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and ensure that everyone feels seen, valued, and empowered to thrive.

And in honour of IDPwD this year, across the Hays Group, we are raising awareness about neurodiversity and how we can remove barriers and ensure a more inclusive environment.

We are thrilled to announce that Hays Australia has achieved Bronze Tier Status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), an esteemed LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Award.

At Hays, we’re committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued. In honour of Pride Month, we’d like to take the opportunity to highlight the initiatives we’ve implemented over the past year to support our LGBTQIA+ colleagues, as well as sharing our plans for this year’s Pride Month celebrations.

This National Reconciliation Week, we wanted to take the opportunity to share the progress we’ve made since the launch of our inaugural Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in August last year.

Respecting people's pronouns is a critical part of creating spaces that are safe and welcoming of all genders. Taking the time to learn about them and how to use them means we can continue to create more inclusive workplaces for all.
