Salaries are calculated as at May 2023 and do not reflect increases to the AU and NZ legal minimums that occur after this date. Current minimum wages are $812.60 per week (AU) and $908.00 per week (NZ) and will next be reviewed on 1 July 2023 (AU) and 1 April 2024 (NZ).  AU salaries are based on a 38 hour working week. NZ salaries are based on a 40 hour week.

What is the average wage in Australia in FY23/24?

In 2023, the average yearly salary in Australia is between $65,000 - $80,000 depending on your state1. The best location for a higher salary is New South Wales, with an average of $80,000, while the state with the lowest average salary is Tasmania at $65,000. The other states and territories rest between these points.
