EPIC Pathways

Supporting pathways from education to employment

EPIC Pathways is our national community partnership supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people as they transition from school into further education, training and employment. Delivered in partnership with EPIC Pathways, this long‑term initiative focuses on building confidence, practical skills and clear pathways into the world of work, at a critical point in young people’s lives.

We believe the work we do today should help build a better tomorrow. That’s why we partner with community‑led organisations like EPIC Pathways to create opportunities that are culturally safe, meaningful and designed for long‑term impact.

How it works

Through our partnership with EPIC Pathways, Hays contributes practical career expertise and real‑world insights into employment. Together, we support students through a range of activities including career workshops, mentoring and job‑readiness support. These ses2sions are designed to help young people build the skills, confidence and understanding they need to take their next steps beyond school. Our involvement focuses on areas where we can add genuine value, including resume writing, interview preparation, confidence‑building and exposure to different career pathways.

Who EPIC Pathways supports

EPIC Pathways works alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to deliver culturally safe, co‑designed programs for high school students. Programs are developed in close collaboration with Elders, students and local communities, ensuring they are respectful, relevant and guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, values and leadership.

By centring community voices, EPIC Pathways ensures young people are supported in ways that reflect their identity, strengths and aspirations.

Our partnership

At the heart of EPIC Pathways is a shared commitment to creating meaningful, measurable impact.

Through this partnership, we support students at a key transition point, helping to strengthen pathways from education into employment. Alongside EPIC Pathways, we also support emerging First Nations student leaders through mentoring and participation in the EPIC Ambassador Program.

The partnership is designed to be ongoing, with a focus on consistency, trust and long‑term outcomes rather than one‑off activity.

Why it matters

For many young people, the transition from school to work can be complex and uncertain. Access to practical support, trusted guidance and clear pathways can make a meaningful difference.

Through EPIC Pathways, we’re taking a practical step towards positive social impact, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to build confidence, capability and opportunity as they move into the next stage of their lives.
