Hays is currently recruiting a Client Side Workplace & Facilities Specialist for a well-known mining company. This will be based in the CBD. Your role will be to ensure their outsourced facilities service provider delivers safe, compliant and high-quality facilities and services across all offices.
Your new role
In this client-side role, reporting to the Manager, Workplace and Travel, you will oversee facility performance, contractor delivery, asset lifecycle activities and regulatory compliance of the Facilities Service Provider.
You will support workplace safety governance, manage facility risk processes, contribute to budgeting and reporting, and help strengthen an inclusive, high-performing facilities function through collaboration, guidance and continuous improvement.
- Deliver safe, compliant and high-quality facility management across their global corporate offices by directing and assuring the performance of the outsourced Facilities Services Provider (FSP) in line with the Corporate Office Standard, business needs and statutory requirements.
- Manage and hold the FSP accountable for contractor performance, budget governance, maintenance delivery and asset lifecycle planning to ensure services meet quality, safety and operational expectations.
- Lead and support workplace safety and risk stewardship by overseeing the FSP’s hazard identification, compliance activities and incident management, while contributing to internal safety committees and governance processes.
- Oversee landlord relationships, office readiness, and both planned and reactive maintenance by ensuring the FSP maintains accurate facility data, documentation and reporting across the global office portfolio.
- Provide informed guidance to internal stakeholders on facility standards, regulatory requirements and operational impacts, ensuring the FSP’s activities support organisational change initiatives and project outcomes.
- Mentor and engage team members while guiding the FSP to promote an inclusive, high-performing culture and drive continuous improvement of facility systems, processes and frameworks.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have prior experience in a similar position in large corporate, mining or commercial property/FM environments where outsourced delivery is standard, e.g. Brookfield, CBRE, BHP, Rio Tinto, JLL, Compass/ESS.
- Must have steady state office operations experience
- Must have client-side facilities experience
- 3–5 years experience in a similar role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Desirable)
- SAP experience and strong budget management capability (Desirable)
