Your new role

As the Working Foreman/Leading Hand, you will oversee the carpentry work and manage junior carpenters, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be required to:

• Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff.
• Supervise the execution of all project phases, from structural work to finishing trades.
• Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
• Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate site records and documentation.

What you'll need to succeed

• 5+ years as a leading hand in residential construction, ideally in architectural builds
• Strong carpentry/building trade skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to manage and lead trades on-site
• Confident reading and interpreting detailed plans
• Organised, proactive, and committed to quality
• Clear communicator who can liaise with clients, trades, and consultants
