WHS Advisor

Permanent opportunity for an experienced WHS Advisor in WA's South West
My client is seeking a proactive and collaborative Work Health & Safety Advisor to lead operational WHS across our organisation. This is your chance to work closely with leaders, teams and the community to build practical capability, strengthen risk management, and embed safe work practices that support sustainable service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead and develop WHS systems
  • Implement, maintain and continuously improve WHS management systems.
  • Prepare reports, analyse WHS data and provide actionable insights.
  • Coordinate internal audits, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain WHS records, registers, induction programs and reporting systems
  • Build capability across the organisation
  • Coach and support leaders to fulfil WHS responsibilities confidently.
  • Facilitate risk assessments
  • Strengthen safety conversations and promote safe work planning.
  • Support HSRs and the WHS Committee
  • Lead HSR capability building and coordinate training, appointments and engagement.
  • Manage bi‑monthly workplace inspections and support timely issue resolution.
  • Oversee injury management
  • Coordinate return-to-work processes and liaise with workers, doctors and insurers.
  • Advise leaders on injury management and fitness-for-work matters.
  • Drive wellbeing and emergency preparedness
  • Deliver the annual wellbeing plan and health monitoring programs.
  • Support emergency planning, training and statutory compliance.
  • Contractor and volunteer safety
  • Maintain contractor management processes and review WHS documentation.
  • Provide WHS advice to Contract Managers and monitor contractor compliance.
What you need to succeed:

  • Certificate IV (or higher) in Work Health & Safety
  • Strong understanding of the WHS Act 2020 (WA) and associated legislation
  • Experience in WHS advisory roles within complex organisations
  • Demonstrated capability to coach, influence and build safety culture
  • Strong investigative, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Incident investigation and corrective action experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and WHS reporting systems
  • C Class Driver’s Licence, First Aid Certificate, White Card, National Police Clearance
Desirable
  • ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or similar experience
  • Experience supporting HSR capability development
  • Emergency management or Chief Fire Warden training
  • Occupational First Aid
  • Experience with organisational change or system implementation
