Your new role

• Maintain delivery efficiency by monitoring channel flows and outfalls daily to ensure customers receive water on time and in the correct volumes.
• Operate and monitor irrigation systems—both manual and automated—taking action to resolve defects and optimise performance.
• Oversee SCADA‑controlled systems to ensure they meet service, efficiency and water‑saving targets.
• Plan, schedule and prioritise work to support smooth daily operations and maintenance activities.
• Investigate and report compliance matters related to the Water Act.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree qualifications in water, irrigation, agriculture or a related field.
• Experience in water delivery systems or irrigation operations, or the willingness to learn quickly in a field‑based environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to identify issues in channels, drainage systems and automated controls, and take timely corrective action.
• Confidence working with both manual and automated systems, including SCADA‑controlled infrastructure.
