Our client is Australia's leading distributor of hospitality supplies & commercial catering equipment. Known for their commitment to safety, operational excellence, and team development, they are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead their Cairns-based facility.
Your new role
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will report to senior management and be responsible for the efficient and compliant operation of the warehouse. You will lead a team, manage inventory, and ensure high standards of safety, customer service, and operational performance. Your responsibilities include:
- Overseeing warehouse employees, recruitment, induction, and performance management.
- Leading by example and fostering a strong team culture aligned with company values.
- Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Managing building maintenance and liaising with the property agent.
- Supervising stock receipt, storage, dispatch, and inventory accuracy.
- Maintaining warehouse layout and housekeeping standards to optimise efficiency.
- Coordinating stock takes, cycle counts, and container movements.
- Managing transport logistics to meet delivery KPIs locally and interstate.
- Ensuring security protocols are followed, including authorised key holder access.
- Maintaining company assets including vehicles, equipment, and emergency gear.
- Attending logistics and WHS meetings and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Promoting excellent customer service across all communication channels.
What you'll need to succeed
You have a strong background in Stores Operation and Management, and additionally hold:
- Demonstrated experience in a high SKU pick-and-pack warehouse.
- Strong leadership, planning, and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of WHS legislation, dangerous goods, and chemical handling.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in container movements and transport logistics.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft
- Current driver’s licence and high reach forklift licence.
