We are currently seeking a Receiving-Despatch General Hand on behalf of our client, a leading player in the steel, non-ferrous, and construction materials industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and safety-focused team that values precision, quality, and operational excellence.

About the Role

As a Receiving-Dispatch General Hand, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials through the warehouse. You’ll be responsible for the accurate receipt, inspection, storage, and despatch of goods, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials
  • Operate forklifts to move and store stock safely
  • Pick, pack, and prepare orders for despatch
  • Maintain accurate stock records and resolve non-conformance issues
  • Ensure all freight is organised and documented for inspection and collection
  • Perform general warehouse administration including delivery dockets, job reports, and stock adjustments
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment
  • Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives
  • Adhere to all OHS policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  • Forklift licence (essential)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with safety and quality systems
  • Willingness to participate in training and support others
