Your new company
This role sits within a government-backed national sustainability initiative—one of the largest and most impactful programs of its kind in Australia. The initiative provides a rating system that measures energy efficiency, water usage, waste management, indoor environmental quality, and embodied carbon in commercial buildings.
The Product Development team is responsible for building and maintaining the online tools that calculate these ratings. The team is currently migrating legacy .NET tools into a custom Salesforce community platform. Remaining tools include Indoor Environment, Public Hospitals, and Waste—this is where you come in.
Your new role
As a Product Designer, you’ll be embedded in a fast-paced, agile team focused on delivering digital tools that support sustainability in the built environment. You’ll collaborate with designers, developers, analysts, and stakeholders to research, prototype, test, and iterate user-centric solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Participating in design sprints and agile workflows
Creating low to high fidelity prototypes using Figma and the Salesforce Lightning Design System
Conducting user testing and iterating designs based on feedback
Reviewing wireframes and refining Figma components
Writing functional user stories in Jira
Collaborating on research strategy and execution
Integrating technical rating rules into design solutions
Synthesising research insights and advocating for user needs
Documenting design decisions in Confluence
What you'll need to succeed
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Outcome-focused approach to design and research
Detail-oriented thinking and curiosity about technical systems
Proficiency in Figma, especially component creation and usage
Interest in sustainability and how buildings function
Experience or interest in Salesforce cloud platforms
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
Commitment to inclusive design and web standards
