Hays Specialist Recruitment is thrilled to invite applications from experienced Civil Labourers to join the City of Gold Coast Council’s Infrastructure Maintenance division. This is a unique chance to collaborate with Australia’s second-largest local government, contributing to impactful projects that shape the community.

Your new role

As a member of the City Maintenance’s Underground Roads and Drainage team, your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

• Maintenance of Council Roads, Footpaths, and Storm Water Drainage Network, ensuring the infrastructure remains safe and functional
• Concrete Work: Lay and finish concrete for kerbs and channels, footpaths, bike ways, and associated works
• Specialised Concrete Finishes: Lay and finish exposed aggregate, stencilled, and stamped concrete
• Storm Water Drainage Maintenance: Maintain utility holes, gully pits, inlet/outlet structures, pipelines, and associated works
• Underground Works: Perform patch, repair, and inspection work, including climbing up and down utility holes and storm water drains

What you will need to succeed

• Previous asphalt and bitumen experience (highly desired to excel in this role)
• Medium Rigid (MR) Licence (mandatory)
• Construction White Card (mandatory)
• Current Confined Space Ticket (mandatory)
• Two recent work references and an up-to-date CV to support your application
