Our client, a global financial services firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Trust Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract.
Sydney CBD location - hybrid working.
Up to $440 a day + super, dependent on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and reconcile trust account reports using Shareworks and Xero, ensuring accurate bookkeeping and end-of-month accounting.
- Set up new client files, track trust onboarding processes, and ensure compliance with audits and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare annual client reporting packs, special purpose financial statements, and cash flow reports, managing multiple financial and tax reporting deadlines.
- Coordinate tax compliance payments, prepare supporting documentation for tax returns, and handle Share Plan Trust registration with ABR/ATO for new clients.
- Monitor Share Plan Trust activities to ensure cost-effective and favourable outcomes for clients.
Requirements:
- Understanding of Employee Share Trusts, tax principles, and financial reporting, with experience in preparing special purpose financial statements and tax returns.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with numbers and time management.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in trust accounting, and familiarity with Xero.
- Ability to comply with relevant Acts and Legislations, maintaining high levels of confidentiality.
- A proactive attitude, capable of working both autonomously and as part of a team.
