About the role:As Training Superintendent, you will lead the delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of training and competency frameworks supporting Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) operations. You will be accountable for ensuring operators, controllers, technicians and support personnel are trained, assessed, and verified as competent to safely and efficiently work within an autonomous mining environment.
Working closely with Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Technology and OEM partners, you will provide strategic oversight while remaining site‑connected. Your role will ensure alignment with site procedures, legislative requirements, OEM standards, and industry best practice, while supporting safe, reliable, and productive autonomous operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading training and competency assurance for Autonomous Haulage operations
- Overseeing delivery of training, assessments and Verification of Competency (VOC) across AHS roles
- Ensuring compliance with site procedures, WHS legislation, and OEM autonomy requirements
- Developing, reviewing, and maintaining infrasubspecific training frameworks, materials, and assessment tools
- Coaching and mentoring trainers, assessors, and operational leaders
- Partnering with Operations, Safety, Maintenance and Technology teams to support safe autonomous execution
- Managing training records, compliance reporting, audits and regulatory requirements
- Driving continuous improvement in training capability, systems, and workforce readiness
- Supporting change management initiatives related to autonomy uplift and operational readiness
What you’ll need to succeed:- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
- Strong leadership experience within mining training, competency or operational readiness functions
- Demonstrated experience working with or supporting Autonomous Haulage Systems
- Solid understanding of WHS legislation, risk management, and autonomous operating environments
- Experience with competency frameworks, VOC programs, and audit compliance
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Strong documentation, reporting, and governance capability
- Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Full Australian working rights
- Manual Driver’s Licence
