Looking to drive safer, smarter roads? We’re seeking a proactive Traffic & Road Safety Engineer for a 3-month contract to help shape the future of local transport infrastructure. Your new role
As a Traffic & Road Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for the following below:

• Develop strategic and operational plans for traffic and road safety
• Manage capital works projects related to traffic infrastructure
• Respond to NHVR permit requests and liaise via their portal
• Analyse traffic, parking, and safety issues using crash data and community feedback
• Coordinate annual traffic surveys and contribute to policy development
• Prepare grant applications and manage reporting for funded projects

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in traffic and road safety
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the Road Management Act
• Proven ability to deliver technical solutions with a customer-first mindset
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
• Have experience with school crossings, parking assessments, or heavy vehicle permits
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, community-focused environment
