Hays are partnering with a local government authority, located approximately 40km South of Perth who are looking for an experienced Traffic Engineer to join their team on a part-time, temporary basis.

Your new role

• Investigate and assess traffic/road safety issues, providing expert recommendations

• Review Traffic Management Plans from contractors and public utilities

• Assist in the Capital Works Delivery program, focusing on road design and infrastructure

• Address and resolve traffic-related complaints, communicating outcomes to stakeholders

• Provide expert advice on traffic, transport, and municipal engineering matters

• Conduct speed limit reviews and manage Restricted Access Vehicles permit applications

• Perform AutoCAD tasks, including minor design and vehicle Turn Path Analysis

• Ensure compliance with Council policies, procedures, and legislative requirements

• Maintain project documentation and liaise with the Finance Department on invoicing

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualification in civil or traffic engineering with at least 5 years' experience

• Extensive knowledge of transport network engineering, traffic management, and road safety standards

• Proficiency in relevant technology and software, including AutoCAD

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Well-developed organizational and time management skills

• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to foster positive professional relationships.

• Valid driver's licence (minimum 'C' class)

• Advanced Work Site Traffic Management accreditation
