Your new role
Working from a home office and reporting to the Regional Sales Director, the Territory Sales Manager is responsible for generating leads and specification pipeline of Tensar applications, by offering solutions to Clients, Consultant Engineers and Contractors in construction markets such as Civil Engineering, Rail, Housebuilding, Landscape, etc.
Main responsibilities are as follows:
Communicate the benefits of Tensar products and solutions to existing and potential customers/influencers so as to grow the market knowledge of Tensar services.
Work closely with all members of the Tensar Distributor team so as to provide the Tensar service offering to own customer base, while also influencing project sales
Develop and execute business plans for the promotion and sale of Tensar products and systems with an emphasis on driving utilization of Tensar+ software and Tensar InterAx value-add solutions.
Successfully implement bid strategies with their distribution partner to close business throughout the sales cycle and ensure customer satisfaction.
Deliver technical presentations and workshops at an appropriate level when required to meet client needs and expand possible sales opportunities.
Train, educate and provide technical support to distributors. Assist in driving local strategies and programs and aid distributor partners in the capture of Tensar sales revenue.
Identify, establish and manage private sector key accounts to leverage Tensar product and service offerings. This would include, but not limited to, large site work contractors, resource extraction, renewable energy, and commercial/industrial/data storage development companies.
Provide project site assessment, design assistance, pre-bid/post-bid actions (with contractors) and site installation services as required.
Regularly and fully utilise Tensar’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system in the upkeep and management of customer interaction, sales, and pipeline data.
Frequent collaboration with Regional Sales Director to define and refine regional value proposition based upon local opportunity, material costs (asphalt, aggregate, chemical stabilization, competitive geosynthetics, etc.).
What you'll need to succeed
Relevant degree level qualification – Civil/Geotechnical/Pavement Engineering, Construction Management, and/or Business degree with relevant experience in construction estimating
Excellent communication skills, able to bridge the gap between selling with a solutions focus and providing technical information that is easily understood by those involved.
Commercial awareness of the construction sector.
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism when conducting all activities relevant to the position, including representing Tensar at external conferences & events.
Experience working with distribution, and experience in consultative selling or business development in the construction industry strongly desired.
Good IT skills with practical experience of Microsoft Office, CRM and other data management systems or Understands the benefits of, and successfully utilises, appropriate IT systems such as Microsoft Office and CRM.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to become a trusted business advisor with key business decision-makers.
