About the role:
As an Operational Readiness Specialist – Technical Writer, you will play a critical role in preparing new or modified assets for operational handover. Your primary focus will be developing, standardising, and assuring high‑quality technical documentation that supports maintenance, asset integrity, and operational readiness outcomes.
A key component of the role is the development and integration of Standardised Work, ensuring that digital work instructions are clear, accurate, structured, and ready for operational use. You will work closely with planners, reliability engineers, and master data specialists to ensure documentation aligns with maintenance strategies, asset registers, and enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Developing and maintaining digital work instructions in line with Standardised Work frameworks and safety standards
  • Preparing and managing bulk data uploads using Excel to support Standardised Work and related systems
  • Collaborating with planning, reliability and asset teams to structure technical documentation that supports maintenance strategies
  • Ensuring accuracy, consistency, version control and governance across all technical documentation
  • Supporting the documentation of reliability‑centred maintenance and failure analysis outputs
  • Assisting planners to ensure work instructions and task lists are fit for purpose and correctly structured for system integration
  • Working with master data specialists to align documentation with asset registers and enterprise asset management systems
  • Identifying and resolving gaps or inconsistencies in technical documentation through engagement with subject matter experts

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Experience developing and managing technical documentation in maintenance, operational readiness or asset management environments
  • Familiarity with Standardised Work or digital work instruction development
  • Experience working with enterprise asset management systems and an understanding of how documentation supports maintenance strategies
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capability, particularly for data structuring, validation and bulk uploads
  • High attention to detail and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, structured documentation
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills across planning, reliability and master data functions
  • Understanding of maintenance strategies, reliability concepts, and risk‑based asset management approaches
  • Relevant tertiary or trade qualifications in engineering, maintenance, or technical writing (desirable)
  • Confidence in seeking clarification, escalating issues, and working within structured governance frameworks
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Based in Perth, Western Australia
