The Waste and Resource Management Branch forms an integral part of a dynamic Customer Engagement and Planning Services Group, leading the charge in waste diversion, resource recovery and environmental compliance.

Your New Role
As a Technical Officer, Disposals & Projects, you'll play a key role in the planning, delivery and oversight of waste management projects and facilities. From supervising contractors and waste site operations to managing large-scale contracts and community programs, you’ll be instrumental in driving environmental outcomes through innovation, research and cross-team collaboration.

With your technical acumen and problem-solving flair, you'll identify opportunities for waste diversion and improved practices that align with strategic goals.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or extensive equivalent experience
  • Proven project and contract management experience, ideally in waste or environmental services
  • In-depth knowledge of current waste management trends, legislation and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities, with a flair for stakeholder engagement and community communication
  • A current “C” class driving licence
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required
  • Desirable credentials include a Certificate IV in Project Management and a General Safety Induction (Construction Industry QLD).
