Hays have partnered with a well-established mining organisation to appoint a Systems Administrator to an initial 4-month contract with a high chance of extension.

Your new role

Your day-to-day activities will include:

• Administer and optimise the Nutanix storage and hyper-converged infrastructure, including troubleshooting, capacity planning, upgrades, and patch management.
• Maintain and monitor on-premises Active Directory and Azure Active Directory environments, ensuring integration, synchronisation, and security compliance.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services with a focus on Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and advanced SharePoint Online administration, including permissions, site content management and compliance.
• Manage, monitor, and test Veeam backup solutions for both on-prem and cloud workloads.
• Maintain system security standards, including identity and access management, conditional access policies, MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication), and compliance reporting.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and leverage native tools to automate tasks and improve operational efficiencies.
• Actively collaborate with the IT Service Desk.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

• Microsoft certifications such as MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator) or AZ-104 (Microsoft Azure Administrator).
• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview (Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention).
• A safety-first mindset.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive mindset, continuously seeking opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
