As a Sustainability Data Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of sustainability and climate‑related data that underpins organisational reporting obligations. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will support the collection, validation, analysis, and management of sustainability data across a national property portfolio.

Your new role

Reporting to the Sustainability Reporting Coordinator, you will:
  • Collect, validate, analyse, and manage sustainability datasets across the national property portfolio, including fuel use, fugitive emissions, financial data, and related information.
  • Maintain accurate, traceable, and auditable sustainability data aligned with approved methodologies and reporting frameworks.
  • Support data alignment across reporting periods, including transitions, system implementation, reconciliation, and quality assurance.
  • Identify data gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, contributing to ongoing quality control and process improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Asset, and Operations teams to strengthen data quality and completeness.
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting progress against net-zero emissions targets and associated performance metrics.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of sustainable data systems, tools, and processes, including exploring AI-enabled improvements.
  • Provide analytical and reporting support for sustainability, compliance, and assurance reporting.
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support organisational sustainability and scientific objectives.
  • Adhere to organisational values, codes of conduct, and HSE policies, while contributing to diversity and inclusion initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, finance, accounting, or demonstrated equivalent experience in data management and analytics.
  • Experience in collecting, analysing, validating, and reporting data, ideally within sustainability, environmental, or resource‑focused contexts.
  • Strong background in managing large and complex datasets using spreadsheets, databases, or reporting systems.
  • High analytical capability with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or relevant data analysis or environmental modelling tools.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse internal stakeholders.
