Support Worker

Support Worker required for an immediate start.

Your new role

Reporting to the Programme Co-ordinator, you will provide in-home support to community clients, assisting with all their daily living needs. Your primary goal will be to promote their independence while ensuring their ongoing safety and well-being. You will excel in communication, maintain a professional approach, and exhibit a confident manner. Shift durations will vary between 4 and 8 hours, based on client needs, with general service hours spanning from 7am to 8pm, across a 7-day roster.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personal Care, including showering, dressing, medication assistance, and manual handling needs.
  • Domestic Assistance, including cleaning, cooking, laundry, shopping, and light gardening.
  • Providing company through friendships, interests and activities.
  • Driving and Community Access, which will include driving your clients to appointments, shops, and outings if needed.
  • Booking appointments, organising special events, and offering support with technology.
  • Keeping up to date with all personal development and in-house training programmes.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged care).
  • HLTOAD011 Provide First Aid (including CPR).
  • HLTFSE001 - Following basic food safety practices.
  • HLTFSE005 - Apply and monitor food safety requirements.
  • HLTFSE007 - Oversee the day-to-day implementation of food safety in the workplace.
  • Valid Queensland Driver's Licence.
  • National Police Check.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Sound verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Sound computer skills, including the ability to operate and maintain an information database.
