Located in Sydney’s Southwestern region, this manufacturer offers an excellent production facility with a great company culture. Your new company is looking for a Supply Planning Manager to drive the team forward.
Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Supply Planning Manager will manage the material, inventory and production planning and scheduling teams.
The purpose of this position is to manage the complete supply planning and scheduling process for the Australian and NZ businesses. It covers the planning, purchasing, allocation and disposal of raw materials and finished goods, the S&OP process including demand planning and the removal of obsolete products and inventory.
The Supply Planning manager is accountable for managing the $36M of national inventory, including determining and minimising obsolete raw materials and finished goods by introducing and optimising raw material forecasting, monitoring and stocking policies. The Supply Planning manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and refinement of a formalised S&OP process.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities in this role will focus on the ongoing development and optimisation of key planning and scheduling processes, including S&OP, production planning, and inventory ordering. It ensures adequate raw materials for production while managing obsolescence to minimise financial impact.
Collaborating with procurement, it seeks cost-effective solutions to reduce operating costs. The role also involves capacity planning, data analysis for S&OP meetings, and recommending improvements for production efficiency. Additionally, it oversees production scheduling and inventory allocation, ensuring timely implementation to minimise waste and meet customer demands.
There is a well-established team in place, and it will be a critical part of this role to further develop and grow the team.
What you'll need to succeed
Exceptional people manager and good communicator to all levels of the business.
Tertiary qualification in Supply chain management, Engineering or related discipline
Proven experience in scheduling and supply planning within a manufacturing facility.
Extensive leadership experience in Australia with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and empowering planning professionals
Strategic and hands-on mindset.
Proven expertise in production and materials requirements planning to ensure timely production schedules
Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of building trusted cross-functional partnerships
A strong drive for continuous improvement and implementing global projects locally and driving positive changes within the manufacturing industry
