Your new role

We’re looking for a Staff / Lead Software Engineer who is passionate about creating impactful products, thrives in a Product Operating Model, and is eager to take full ownership of solving real user problems. You’ll be part of a cross-functional, empowered team, working closely with a Product Owner/Manager and Designer as part of a core product trio.

This team is focused on improving the digital home loan experience, developing and personalising tools for current, new, and prospective customers. Your role will extend beyond coding—you’ll contribute to ideation, design, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing product enhancement. We value a product engineering mindset—someone who is equally invested in the product’s success and user experience as they are in writing high-quality code.

What you'll need to succeed

• Possesses full-cycle engineering experience: system design (architecture), build, testing (unit, integration, system), release, and ongoing maintenance.
• Partners as part of a “core trio” (Product, Design, Engineering) to deeply understand business and user problems, and co-create solutions.
• Leads the technical design, architecture, and implementation of new and existing features, providing thought leadership and influencing technology direction across the team.
• Actively embrace and integrate AI-driven solutions (including LLMs and agentic AI approaches) to enhance our engineering workflows and product capabilities.
• Proven ability to provide technical thought leadership: influencing engineering culture, evaluating and introducing new technologies, guiding team direction, mentoring and supporting other engineers.

Tech Skills:

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all, but experience or exposure to some of these will set you up for success in this team:

• Strong expertise in frontend with Next.js, React.js, Typescript
• Advanced proficiency in backend development in Node.js, .NET Core, .NET Framework
• Demonstrated experience in solution design and architecture principles
• Expertise with Microservices, Restful API design pattern
• Working knowledge of public cloud engineering - AWS preferred
• Understanding of DevOps, CI-CD pipeline - TeamCity, Octopus, GitHub Actions
• Any experience with the following: AI/ML development, Prompt engineering, integrating agentic AI in the software development process, leading small technical teams
