Reputable Local Council is seeking an experienced Spatial & Dara Analyst to join their high-performing team!

Are you passionate about spatial data, GIS technologies, and making a tangible impact in your community? A progressive local government authority is seeking a skilled Spatial & Data Analyst to join their team.

This dynamic position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the organisation’s corporate GIS layers, asset registers, and spatial data systems. You’ll work across departments to deliver high-quality spatial analysis, mapping, and data visualisation that supports strategic decision-making and service delivery.


Your new role

Working as a Spatial & Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the following below:

  • Maintain and enhance enterprise GIS and asset management systems
  • Create and manage spatial datasets, maps, and analytical tools
  • Provide GIS support to staff, including help with spatial data, mapping, and application issues
  • Manage and update corporate GIS data, including VicMap, cadastral, property, and planning datasets. M1s to be submitted weekly
  • Process regular updates from Land Victoria and investigate data discrepancies using certified plans and Council databases
  • Support the delivery of shared services GIS functions with partner councils

What you'll need to succeed
You’re a detail-oriented professional with a strong technical foundation in GIS and spatial data management. You enjoy solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and using data to drive insights.

  • Tertiary qualifications in GIS, civil engineering, asset management, or a related field
  • Proven experience with GIS software, 3D modelling, and spatial analysis
  • Strong skills in data manipulation, reporting, and visualisation tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Victorian Driver’s License
