You’ll join a regulated financial services organisation with a strong engineering culture, where a core platform underpins critical client and operational functions. The technology team operates at enterprise scale and focusses on stability, quality, and continuous improvement across complex systems.

Your new role
As a Software Engineer, you’ll contribute to the design, customisation, and ongoing evolution of a core banking platform within a platform engineering function. Working closely with engineers, delivery, and support teams, you’ll help deliver robust, compliant, and scalable solutions aligned to business needs.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing and building best‑practice solutions for complex business requirements
  • Customising core platform functionality, with a focus on AvaloqScript / ACP parameterisation
  • Shared ownership of the Avaloq codebase and enforcement of engineering standards
  • Supporting solution design and reviewing new features
  • Championing unit and automated testing to ensure high‑quality releases
  • Providing technical guidance for incidents, releases, and platform monitoring
  • Communicating technical risks clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
  • Participating in agile ceremonies, demos, and continuous improvement initiatives
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Extensive hands‑on Avaloq development experience across multiple domains, including ownership of the Avaloq environment and codebase
  • Strong PL/SQL and Oracle SQL skills
  • Nice to have: Avaloq Certified Professional (ACP) certification
  • Experience with incident management, release/change management, and system monitoring in an enterprise environment
  • Sound understanding of Agile methodologies and the SDLC
Desirable technical experience:
  • Avaloq RMWP parameterisation
  • HTML, CSS, Angular, TypeScript
  • Java, J2EE, JDBC, SOAP, JavaScript
  • Web application firewalls (e.g. Ergon or similar)
  • Elasticsearch / Kibana
  • OpenShift, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana
What you’ll get in return
