Our client, a local company specialised in construction of commercial, industrial, residential and government facilities, is recruiting a Site Engineer / Contracts Administrator to join their team and work on the delivery of a large-scale Defence Building project in a remote area of the Northern Territory.
Your new role
As a Site Engineer / Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring the delivery of the project to ensure it meets the required standards, is delivered on time and to budget while satisfying the needs of the client and company. The project is a $40m new build Defence facility located in the Northern Territory. This is a full-time role with accommodation provided on site or can be available on a 10 days on / 4 days off from Darwin. The expected project duration is 2 years.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Develop, monitor, and report on project schedules and activities.
Assist the project management team in developing project planning and cost management.
Implement quality control techniques and the Project Quality Management plan.
Contract management and procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and plant hires.
Perform site inspections and produce progress reports.
Management of all project documentation including QA documents and correspondence.
Implement HSEQ requirements and controls in the workplace.
Liaison with the clients to represent the company in a positive and professional manner and protect its contractor position throughout the project.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous experience as a Site Engineer or Contracts Administrator on construction projects in Australia.
Relevant qualifications in Construction Management or Engineering.
Ability to read and interpret contract documents and project drawings.
Experience with implementation of management systems on a project.
Experience with subcontract management.
Experience using Project Management software and solid skills in programming are essential.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Excellent oral, written communication and analytical skills.
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Hold a current White Card.
