You will join a small Federal Government agency that plays an important role in delivering trusted information and services to the Australian community. The agency is currently undertaking a significant Information Management uplift, modernising how information is governed, protected and used across Microsoft 365.
You’ll be part of a close‑knit, collaborative environment where your technical expertise will have real impact, and where decisions are made quickly with direct access to key stakeholders.

Your new role

As a SharePoint & Purview Technical Specialist, you will play a hands‑on role in delivering core technical configurations that sit at the heart of the agency’s Information Management uplift program.
In this team, you will work closely with senior IM specialists and internal ICT teams to design, configure and embed SharePoint Online, Microsoft Purview and Teams governance across the Microsoft 365 tenancy. This is a delivery‑focused role where you’ll be trusted to turn agreed governance decisions into practical, sustainable technical solutions.
You’ll also be responsible for producing clear technical documentation and handover materials, ensuring the agency’s IT operations team can confidently support and maintain the environment once the program concludes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A Baseline security clearance at minimum (NV1 preferred)
  • Strong hands‑on experience administering and configuring SharePoint Online in enterprise or regulated environments
  • Demonstrated experience configuring Microsoft Purview, including retention labels, sensitivity labels, compliance policies and role‑based access
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Teams governance and its relationship with SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Experience working within Federal Government ICT governance frameworks, including formal change and approval processes
  • Exposure to content migration tools such as ShareGate, including migration planning and execution.
  • The ability to produce clear, well‑structured technical documentation for non‑technical audiences
