Operating from Darebin, this organisation is currently seeking a Service Planning Officer to join their Team in a full-time capacity, for a 4-week period.
Your new role
The Service Planning Officer's primary role is to identify and offer suggestions for continuously improving rostering and allocation practice, with solution-focused approaches to optimise service flexibility, cost-effectiveness, client outcomes and staff capacity. You will also undertake coordinated, efficient and appropriate allocation of care and support services to new and existing clients of the Supported and Connected Living Department. You will also be required to:
- Undertake responsive, efficient, effective and accountable service and staff allocation and rostering within required timeframes, to best meet clients/carers needs, preferences, and staffing variables.
- Actively integrate an Active Service Approach, and service coordination principles into practices and processes.
- Identify where further (client or staff) information is needed to undertake appropriate rostering/allocation and seek clarification from the relevant source (e.g. Service Facilitation Team, Community Support Team Leaders, Assessment Team, Team Leader Service Planning).
- Roster agency staff to cover unmet need and report any scheduling, service issues or other concerns with agency staff to Team Leader Service Planning.
- Contribute to the development of effective policies and procedures to support best practice and quality client outcomes, including adaptation of our service model to the requirements of My Aged Care Gateway and Commonwealth Home Support Program.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in obtaining this opportunity, you will have a willingness to learn, a proven work ethic and experience as a Service Planning Officer. You will also need:
- A tertiary qualification in Human services, Human Resources (or related discipline) and/or relevant experience in the Community Services environment.
- A current employee Working with Children Card.
- Thorough understanding of rostering and service allocation, and relevant Human Resources considerations, in a community based, outreach setting.
- An ability to plan and organise work, to meet quality standards and to manage frequent updates for action, via electronic or other channels, from staff and Team Leaders, within adopted performance standards.
- High level proficiency in common computer packages including Windows and Microsoft programs, (Carelink Plus knowledge an advantage).
