Hays Technology have partnered with a highly sought-after State Government department to assist in filling a vacancy in their flourishing service desk. With a 12-month contract available, you don't want to miss out on this opportunity!

Your new role

As the Service Desk Officer, you will be responsible for providing a compassionate, and warm level of customer service and IT support to the department’s diverse end-user base. No day will look the same, but some of your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Being the first point of contact for all customer support calls and queries
  • Respond to tickets and incidents according to ITIL processes, escalating when necessary
  • Collaborating with team members to improve service processes, and maintaining documentation
  • Troubleshooting and configuration of incidents in programs such as such as Active Directory, M365, Citrix, mobile technologies, and InTune

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an interpersonal Service Desk Officer, with a warm approach to people and a love for helping them through their technical issues. You'll be a quick thinker and adapt well to change, as well as really priding yourself on your quality of work over the quantity you get through. Your key competencies and skills will include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated working experience within a large service desk environment
  • Excellent experience working with Active Directory and Office 365, with InTune experience preferred
  • Advanced communication skills, with the ability to communicate with end-users from all different technical backgrounds
  • Extensive troubleshooting and problem-solving experience in complex, low-context environments

After the initial induction period (6-8 weeks minimum) you may transition to a hybrid working model, comprising of 5-days in office and 5-days work from home (over a 2 week period).
