Your new role

As a Service Desk Assistant, you will be part of a dynamic ICT team providing first-level technical support to staff across multiple locations. This entry-level role is ideal for recent school-leavers, university graduates, or individuals with a passion for IT. You’ll assist with account setups, device configuration, incident logging, and basic troubleshooting, while receiving training and mentorship to grow your technical and customer service skills. This is a 12-month contract with three 12-month extension options, based in Canberra, ACT or Adelaide, SA, and requires Baseline Security Clearance.

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
  • Completion of Year 12 with IT coursework, or a diploma/degree in IT, or relevant hands-on experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to follow standard procedures and solve basic technical issues.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and ITIL principles (desirable).
  • Previous customer service experience in IT, retail, hospitality, or admin (desirable).
