Your new role
As a Senior Urban Designer, you will provide expert design advice across major Development Applications, Planning Proposals, public domain projects and strategic planning initiatives. You will guide urban design outcomes that enhance local character, improve public realm quality, and support sustainable, place-focused development.
Working closely with the Team Leader and a multidisciplinary group of planners, designers and technical specialists, you will:
Lead the preparation of urban design strategies, master plans and 3D models for key sites and precincts
Review and assess DA and Planning Proposal documentation
Provide high-level design analysis for reports and policy updates
Contribute to key planning frameworks including LEPs, DCPs, LSPS and Local Housing Strategies
Support community engagement activities
Work collaboratively with architects, developers, consultants and government agencies to elevate design quality.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree in architecture or landscape architecture, ideally with postgraduate urban design
At least 10 years’ post‑graduate experience in urban design, architecture or planning
Demonstrated experience managing complex urban design projects and consultant teams
Advanced skills in CAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team
