Hays Technology are currently partnered with a well-established State Government Department to appoint an experienced Senior Operations Specialist to a contract until 29 August with potential extension.

Your new role

This role manages the daily and specialised requirements for the Infrastructure Operations group. The role ensures ongoing support, maintenance, and operational functioning for Smart Service Queensland (SSQ), clients and stakeholders.
You will manage and support services for business areas that work in a 24 by 7 telecommunications environment, providing effective, efficient, and prompt delivery of SSQ’s services to the Queensland public.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will also include:

Oversee, monitor and support all aspects of SSQ’s technical infrastructure including servers (both virtual and physical), networks and ICT security providing 2nd and 3rd level support as required.
Providing guidance and support to teammates in the effective improvement of services, including the identification of dependencies, incidents and constraints, technology and process improvements
Ensure ongoing service delivery to SSQ users by prioritising team workflow and managing more complex and/or escalated issues.
Manage and monitor systems and infrastructure to ensure high performance and availability
Analyse data and statistics for business report development and providing recommendations for continual improvement to service delivery such as availability, technical performance and capacity planning

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in attaining this role, you will have:

Provide support for Microsoft Azure and O365 products.
Strong Azure Cloud knowledge (Deployment and Management)
Microsoft Server administration (MCSE would be desirable)
Practical knowledge of (Microsoft SCCM/Intune and SharePoint)
Practical understanding of LAN, DHCP and DNS Network.
