Your new role
As a Senior Statutory Planner, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and customer-focused statutory planning services. You’ll provide expert advice, mentor planning officers, and oversee complex planning applications to drive growth and sustainability across the region.
Your key responsibilities
Lead and mentor planning officers, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy frameworks.
Assess and process planning applications within statutory timeframes.
Provide expert guidance on land use and development proposals.
Represent Council at Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal hearings.
Investigate and enforce planning breaches to uphold regulatory standards.
Contribute to strategic planning initiatives to enhance future development.
What you'll need to succeed
Tertiary qualifications in Urban or Regional Planning.
Minimum 4 years’ experience in statutory planning within local government or private industry.
Strong knowledge of Victoria’s planning system, including relevant legislation.
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Advanced GIS and database management capabilities.
Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders and drive positive outcomes.
