Your new role
In this senior-level Software Network Engineering position, you’ll lead the design and development of next-generation applications to support residential gateway platforms. Working across embedded systems, containerised environments, and high-performance virtualised infrastructure, you'll take ownership of prototyping and deploying scalable software solutions using Python and modern web technologies. The role offers the chance to embed intelligent automation and device discovery capabilities into networking hardware, with a strong emphasis on improving customer hardware platforms and user experience across home connectivity.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Deep experience developing in Python across embedded Linux platforms
  • Strong understanding of IP networking concepts (e.g., TCP/UDP, DHCP, fingerprinting, mDNS, UPnP)
  • Hands-on exposure to residential gateway and home networking technologies including Wi-Fi and Smart Home device integration (Zigbee, Z-Wave, Bluetooth)
  • Experience with open-source firmware and networking stacks such as OpenWRT
  • Understanding of API-driven system architecture, web scalability, and load balancing techniques
  • Proficiency in DevOps methodologies including CI/CD, automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform), containerisation, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable operating within Agile environments, delivering complex projects with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, championing continuous improvement and shared success
