Your new role
As the Senior Procurement Officer, you will report to the Senior Manager, Contracts and Procurement. You will be responsible for providing oversight and support to procurement activities. Key accountabilities include:
- Leading strategic, innovative, and sustainable procurement guidelines, procedures, and policy.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for new procurement initiatives that produce cost savings and operational efficiency.
- Providing supportive leadership to Contract and Procurement Officers.
- Monitoring internal procurement systems and ensuring compliance.
- Building and maintaining constructive relationships with senior leaders.
- Providing timely responses and high customer service to external service providers, departments, agencies, and key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed
- In-depth knowledge and experience in procurement, compliance, policy development, contract review, and risk management practices, preferably in a Victorian Government context.
- Highly developed conceptual and analytic skills.
- Ability to engage, advise, and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead projects and implement changes that enhance procurement strategy and activities.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or significant experience in a similar procurement services role.
