Your new role

This role can be based in either Perth, Cairns or Darwin.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will provide specialist guidance and advice on Mechanical Engineering to key defence stakeholders. This role enables you to make very real & direct contributions to technical outcomes on key maritime naval products.

• Review and approve engineering plans, designs and technical reports in accordance with assigned technical authority levels.
• Perform design validation and acceptance duties within the scope of delegated technical authority.
• Deliver engineering support through SQEP assessments and provision of expert technical guidance.
• Collaborate with key defence engineers to formulate Technical Risk Assessments for major Engineering Changes
• Conduct and support technical investigations in response to sustainment needs and project-specific requirements.
• Engage with military units, agencies, and personnel across all tiers of command and management.
• Establish and nurture effective working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration across initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

• NV1 Clearance and Australian Citizenship
• Strong Mechanical Engineering experience supporting defence capability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience in delivering maritime defence capability is highly regarded – specifically for above water.
• Located in either Perth, Cairns or Darwin (or be willing to relocate to such locations).
