Your new role

As Legal Manager, you will lead and oversee an accomplished legal team dedicated to supporting the insurers' Commercial Insurance division.

• Establish and manage a high-performing legal team to handle a diverse portfolio, including marketing, product development, PDS content, distribution, regulatory compliance, claims excellence, risk selection, and digital-first initiatives.
• Drive strategic improvements in customer experience, technology, and operational efficiencies to support the insurer's growth ambitions in Commercial Insurance.
• Facilitate the execution of the Commercial Insurance strategy while advancing trans-Tasman aspirations.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to address critical challenges and drive meaningful solutions.
• Develop and refine team processes and operational frameworks to ensure seamless, end-to-end legal support.
• Foster a dynamic, agile, and high-performance team culture

What you'll need to succeed

• Admitted to practice as a lawyer in Australia

• Ideally, a minimum of 15 years PAE within Insurance and/or financial services

• Experience practising in commercial insurance, providing legal advice on PDS content, product development, regulatory advice, distribution

• Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams

• Commercial Acumen: Superior knowledge of the business environment, clients’ business objectives, and critical success factors, industry and commercial trends.

• Ability to influence with compelling arguments and conviction
