Our client is a federal government agency seeking to engage a Senior Cybersecurity Project Manager to lead a critical Identity and Access Management (IAM) and cyber security program within a complex ICT environment. This is a 12 month initial contract based in Canberra with hybrid working arrangements. Candidates must be ACT based and hold a current Negative Vetting 1 clearance.
Your new role
You will lead the delivery of a high-priority IAM program, with a key focus on internal identity and privileged access management solutions. This role will see you driving secure identity outcomes across the organisation, ensuring strong governance, stakeholder alignment and successful integration into the broader cyber security landscape.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of enterprise IAM initiatives, including internal identity and privileged access management solutions
- Managing end-to-end delivery of ICT and cyber security projects with organisation-wide impact
- Developing and maintaining project plans, schedules and interdependencies
- Ensuring delivery of milestones on time and within budget
- Managing risks, issues and benefits, including mitigation and escalation strategies
- Working closely with business, technical teams, vendors and managed service providers to deliver IAM outcomes
- Overseeing procurement, contract management and budget tracking
- Providing clear reporting, including status updates and executive briefings
- Supporting governance, operational integration and continuous improvement
- Building strong stakeholder relationships across security, infrastructure and business units
- Driving change and supporting uplift of IAM capability across the organisation
What you'll need to succeed
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Senior Project Manager in ICT or cyber security programs
- Strong experience delivering Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives, including internal identity solutions
- Proven experience delivering privileged access management (PAM) solutions
- Experience working with vendors, managed service providers and internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in complex environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and delivery challenges
