Seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a 6mth Fixed Term Contract

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully during a period of transformation and growth within a well-established organisation in the consumer goods sector, located in the Geelong Surf Coast region.

Your new role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting compliance obligations, and partnering with senior stakeholders across the business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Month-end close and general ledger reconciliations
  • Preparation of journals and variance analysis
  • Business partnering with operational teams and FP&A
  • Tax compliance including BAS, FBT, and WHT
  • Supporting ERP transition and ad hoc project work
  • Driving cost control and financial governance
  • Assisting with audit preparation and stakeholder engagement

What you'll need to succeed

You’ll be a qualified CA/CPA (or near completion) with at least 5 years’ experience in financial accounting. Your technical expertise, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities will be key to your success.
You’ll also bring:
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (Microsoft AX / D365 highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in retail or listed environments (preferred but not essential)
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to contribute beyond the numbers
