Permanent full-time position on-site for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant in Geelong

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a well‑established organisation based in Geelong. This is a hands‑on role offering genuine variety, ownership, and the chance to work closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Reporting into senior leadership, you will play a key role in managing the day‑to‑day finance function, supporting operational teams, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. This position will suit someone who enjoys being involved across the full accounting lifecycle and adding value beyond the numbers.

Your new role

In this position, you will be responsible for:
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting
  • Managing journals, reconciliations, fixed assets and depreciation schedules
  • Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations (PAYG, super, BAS, STP)
  • Managing invoicing, debtors and creditors, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and year‑end processes, including liaison with external accountants
  • Partnering with operational teams to provide financial insights and support decision‑making
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and reporting requirements

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Proven experience in a senior or end‑to‑end accounting role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience across payroll, accounts, reporting and compliance
  • Confidence working with accounting systems and Excel‑based reporting
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with non‑finance stakeholders
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach and the confidence to take ownership
