Your new role
As the Senior Electrical Project Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of high-value commercial projects such as schools, aged care facilities, entertainment parks, and sporting grounds. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and timelines, liaise with clients and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. This is a pivotal role that combines strategic oversight with hands-on project leadership. You’ll manage the full project lifecycle—from planning and subcontractor coordination to resource allocation and client liaison. This is a predominantly office-based role in Warragul, with regular site visits across the region, the furthest travel will be Sale.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and resource allocation
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
- Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with Australian electrical standards and OHS regulations
- Lead site meetings, inspections, and final handover documentation
- Administer contracts, variations, RFIs, and progress claims
- Use SimPro for project and staff scheduling
- Facilitate new connections and alterations with Power Authorities
- Foster a collaborative team culture and support leadership development
- Identify and implement process improvements and innovation
What you'll need to succeed
- 10+ years’ experience in electrical project management, ideally in commercial construction
- Strong understanding of complex builds and subcontractor scopes
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and subcontractors effectively
- In-depth knowledge of Australian electrical standards and safety regulations
- Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering, trade or Project Management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Based in Gippsland or nearby or willing to relocate
- Desire for long-term career stability
