Your new role

As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, and transport initiatives. You’ll manage a small team, oversee engineering assessments, and contribute to strategic planning for future capital work. Responsibilities include project management, technical design, stakeholder engagement, and compliance with engineering standards. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring staff, coordinating with internal departments and external agencies, and driving innovation in service delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

- Advanced Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering (degree desirable)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a design role, with proven management capability
- Strong skills in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, CivilCAD, and drainage design software
- Experience in project management, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and grant processes
- Accreditation in traffic management and road safety auditing (desirable)
- A current driving licence and ability to pass medical and police checks
