Your new company
A growing organisation is undertaking a significant data platform stabilisation and modernisation program within an Azure-first environment. With a strong focus on improving reliability, scalability, and governance, the business is investing in building a robust, enterprise-grade data and integration platform to support future analytics and AI initiatives.
Your new role
As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will take a hands-on role in designing, building, and evolving enterprise data platforms and integrations. You’ll develop and optimise data pipelines across APIs, events, and batch processing, while working with technologies such as Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, and Microsoft Fabric to support modern data architecture.
You will be responsible for implementing medallion-based architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold), managing data platforms within Fabric/OneLake, and ensuring strong governance, data quality, and reliability across the pipeline.
Beyond data engineering, you will design and build integration solutions using Azure services such as Functions and Logic Apps, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and production-ready. This role also involves working closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and providing guidance on platform best practices and architecture direction.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring strong experience in data platform engineering and modern data architecture, with hands-on expertise in tools such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and Azure integration services.
A solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT pipelines, integration patterns (API, event-driven, messaging) and cloud architecture principles is essential. Experience working with Power BI semantic models, data governance practices, and CI/CD pipelines will be highly valued.
You will be a proactive problem solver with strong communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in modernising legacy platforms and delivering scalable, maintainable solutions in enterprise environments will set you apart.
What you'll get in return
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-impact data transformation program, where you can influence the design and evolution of a modern data platform. You will work in a collaborative environment with exposure to cutting-edge Azure technologies, with competitive remuneration and strong potential for ongoing opportunities.
