A leading Australian infrastructure investment and asset management organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to drive the commercial strategy and performance of a diverse portfolio of critical gas assets. Your new role
As Senior Commercial Manager – Gas, you will lead the strategic and commercial direction of major gas transportation assets across Australia. Working closely with senior leaders, investment teams, boards, and operational specialists, you will:
Drive commercial optimisation and long‑term business strategy for multiple gas assets
Lead business development initiatives, including new gas supply, customer demand, and connection projects
Negotiate Gas Transportation Agreements, Storage Agreements and Gas Sales Agreements
Oversee commercial operations, regulatory compliance, and asset performance
Contribute to renewable energy initiatives, including BESS development and PPA strategy
Build strong relationships across suppliers, customers, developers and internal stakeholders
Support project development from concept to financial close
Provide input into broader portfolio strategy and cross‑asset initiatives
A blend of office‑based and flexible working arrangements.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a commercially astute energy professional with:
Deep experience in the Australian gas market and high‑pressure gas pipeline operations (15 + years)
Strong commercial negotiation experience across GTAs, gas sales, storage and related agreements
Exsposure to energy project development through to financial close is highly advantageous
Strategic thinking, whole‑of‑business insight and a strong understanding of the evolving energy landscape
Strong general management skills, including leadership, communication, decision making and stakeholder management
Experience working with boards, senior executives and multidisciplinary teams
A degree in business, law or a related field
Exposure to electricity markets, energy trading, and renewable energy projects is highly advantageous.
