Your new role 
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will take on a strategic and hands-on leadership role in designing, implementing, and governing hybrid and Azure-based cloud platforms. You’ll lead cloud capability development, provide technical direction, and manage complex cloud initiatives that support infrastructure transformation, application modernisation, and service integration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and managing scalable, secure Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Developing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Bicep, Terraform, and ARM.
- Leading DevOps and CI/CD initiatives with tools like GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Championing cloud governance, RBAC, network segmentation, and policy compliance.
- Mentoring cloud engineers and fostering a high-performance engineering culture.
- Managing vendor relationships, MSPs, and cloud-related contracts.
- Collaborating with architects and stakeholders to deliver secure and maintainable cloud solutions.
- Driving continuous improvement in cloud operations, reporting, and risk management.
What you'll need to succeed 
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Postgraduate qualifications or extensive experience in cloud/infrastructure engineering.
- Strong Azure expertise, including services like AKS, Virtual Machines, App Services, Networking, and Azure Functions.
- Advanced IaC skills (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and scripting proficiency (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
- Deep understanding of cloud governance, security, and operational best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring teams and setting engineering standards.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and executive levels.
- Ability to manage complex projects and vendor relationships effectively.
- Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Azure Administrator Associate are highly regarded.
